Indika Group (INDY) Masmindo Targets Gold Mine Construction 2024

PT Mamsindo Dwi Area (Masmindo) is in the final stages of finalizing land compensation for the construction of mining facilities. The land compensation primarily targets two villages, Ranteballa and Boneposi, closest to the mine area. In October - November 2023, the company plans to land clearing and start constructing the mining facilities on the acquired lands. Masmindo coordinated with the Luwu Regency Investment Acceleration Task Force team and led the Luwu Regional Secretary, various Luwu Regency Governments, and Luwu Forkopimda. Masmindo has taken several directives from the task force and strategic steps following coordination with the relevant Government parties.

Masmindo &amp; Luwu Environment Agency to Plant A Million Trees&nbsp;Awak Mas&nbsp;–PT Masmindo Dwi Area (Masmindo) in collaboration with the Environment Agency of Luwu Regency (DLH), South Sulawesi launched the “Movement to Plant a Million Trees – Save the Earth” on Tuesday (22/03). The symbolic planting was carried out directly by the President Director of Masmindo Abidin Daeng Patompo and the Head of DLH Luwu Nahban. Also attending the event was the Head of the Forest Protection &amp; Community Empowerment Section of KPH Latimojong Arsal Abdullah, the Head of Latimojong District Supriadi, the Head of Boneposi Village, the Head of Pajang Village, several other community leaders, and Masmindo Management.&nbsp;After the symbolic planting, the event continued with joint planting along the village access road. This symbolic planting also marks the start of the distribution of 15,000 free seeds to communities in the villages of Pajang, Ulusalu, and Boneposi. The joint planting program and distribution of free seeds for residents will be carried out in stages to meet the target of one million trees and is primarily aimed at villages around Masmindo's operational areas. The distribution of various seeds such as durian, rambutan, langsat, jackfruit, and other woody plants was enthusiastically welcomed by residents during the event which lasted from yesterday morning until evening.&nbsp;The declaration of this movement was initiated by Masmindo and DLH Luwu as part of the Climate Village Program (Proklim) of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment &amp; Forestry, International Forest Day (21 March), and World Water Day (22 March). Head of the Environment Agency Luwu Nahban said, “This collaborative program between Masmindo and the Environment Service is outstanding and has a big impact on environmental sustainability in the Latimojong area as the heart of Luwu Regency. This program will continue with planting in coastal areas and other areas. We are grateful to have Masmindo's full support for these efforts.”&nbsp;Masmindo President Director Abidin Daeng Patompo added, “The Movement for Planting a Million Trees is an excellent initiative that is planned to be sustainable. Masmindo & Luwu Environment Agency to Plant A Million Trees

Greening the Coast, Masmindo Plants Mangroves&nbsp;Belopa – Commemorating Earth Day on April 22, PT Masmindo Dwi Area (Masmindo) held a mangrove planting at Taddete Harbor, South Senga Village, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi on Saturday (23/04). The mangrove planting is a continuation of the One Million Trees Movement Program in collaboration with the Luwu Regency Environment Agency (DLH). The symbolic planting was carried out by the President Director of Masmindo, Abidin Daeng Patompo, together with the Regent of Luwu, Basmin Mattayang, and the Head of DLH Luwu, Nahban. Also present were the Head of the Belopa Makkawaru Sub-district, the Acting Head of South Senga Village Anwar Amir, the Karang Taruna of South Senga Village, the Mangrove Lovers Community (KPA), a number of community leaders, and Masmindo Management. &nbsp;After the symbolic handover of the seeds, the event continued with joint planting along the coast of Taddete Harbor in collaboration with the Mangrove Lovers Community (KPA). In the first stage of planting, Masmindo and KPA prepared no less than 5,500 seedlings and facilitated the demonstration plots for Mangrove nurseries in Luwu Regency.&nbsp;President Director of PT Masmindo Dwi Area Abidin Daeng Patompo stated, “We are committed to planting trees in a sustainable manner and monitoring the trees we have planted. If a tree doesn't grow, we'll replace it. We hope that Masmindo can continue to collaborate with the government and local communities in planting trees in a sustainable manner.”&nbsp;The One Million Trees Movement launched by Masmindo is also in line with the Luwu Regency government program plan to create an agro-tourism area in Latimojong and its surroundings. “I would like to thank Masmindo, who previously has also planted fruit trees in the Movement to Plant a Million Trees. We hope that Masmindo is committed to planting, picking, and consuming and continuing this program in collaboration with local governments and community leaders," said Luwu Regent, Basmin Mattayang.&nbsp;Masmindo has committed to fostering KPA and local communities in the process of nursery and cultivate mangrove at the provided demonstration plots. This Mangrove Nursery has a capacity of 10,000 to 15,000 seedlings and is centered in Senga Selatan Village.&nbsp;Previously, Masmindo and DLH Luwu had planted and distributed 15,000 seeds of fruit and wood plants for free in Pajang, Ulusalu, and Boneposi Villages in the Movement to Plant a Million Trees Program. The Company is committed to preserving the environment around its operational areas by conducting periodic reforestation and monitoring air and water quality.

Greening the Coast, Masmindo Plants Mangroves

MDA Aided Landslide Victims&nbsp;Awak Mas&nbsp;– This February, PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) redemonstrated its social involvement through various assistance for residents affected by landslides in Latimojong District, Luwu, South Sulawesi. MDA deployed its heavy equipment to open access roads blocked by landslides, in addition to distributing food packages to residents affected by the disaster.&nbsp;Landslides occurred at numerous spots in the villages of Ranteballa, Boneposi, Ulosalu, Pajang and Tabang. It is estimated that this is due to high rainfall, particularly in early February to early March. Landslides occurred in a row since February 7, 9, and 11. Many village roads and connecting roads between villages were blocked by landslides, making it impossible for residents to pass. The worst landslides spots of a total of 16 locations, occurred between the Ranteballa - Saronda Village road section, 4 landslide points in Padang Hamlet, as well as in Kandeapi Hamlet (Ranteballa), Tabang Village, and Gamaru Hamlet (Ulusalu).&nbsp;Due to good coordination between MDA, the Luwu Regency Public Works Agency (PU), the Luwu Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), and the Latimojong District Government, road accesses were reopened. In addition to support from the Luwu Regency Government, MDA deployed heavy equipment of excavator to be able to open and at the same time repair several roads. Following the advancement, since February 12, access roads to these villages have been working normally and can be passed by residents. However, monitoring of road conditions and maintenance continues to be carried out by the Company.&nbsp;Meanwhile, basic food assistance was provided by MDA to Ulusalu Village residents who were affected by the road blocking due to landslides. Several food packages have been distributed directly to residents by the Mine Engineering Chief (KTT) &amp; MDA Site Manager Mustafa Ibrahim accompanied by company staff. The delivery of the basic food packages was also witnessed by the village and sub-district governments.&nbsp;"We are very grateful to the MDA who are always quick to respond and take immediate action in the event of a disaster," said the Head of Latimojong Sub-district, Supriadi, during the Regional Development Planning Forum (Musrembang) of Latimojong on February 15, which was also attended by MDA. "Hopefully this good cooperation from all parties can continue to be realized in the future."&nbsp;The contribution programs above are parts of implementation of the MDA Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM), both in disaster management and infrastructure development. Several contributions have been and will continue to be made by MDA to villages around its mining areas, even though the Company has not yet entered the production phase. Previously, MDA also provided similar assistance for residents affected by floods in Ponrang District and some areas affected by the natural disasters in 2021.&nbsp;

MDA Gives Public Lecture at SMKN 2 Luwu on OHS Awak Mas&nbsp;– In celebrating the National Occupational Health and Safety (K3 Month) from January 12 to February 12, PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) held a public lecture on OHS at SMK Negeri 2 Luwu, South Sulawesi for a month. The public lecture is intended for six majors at SMK Negeri 2 Luwu, namely, Light Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Power Installation Engineering, Motorcycle Engineering &amp; Business, Office Automation, and Computer Network Engineering. No less than 280 students took part in the public lecture, which took place in two sessions on one day every week during the implementation of the National K3 Month since Tuesday, January 18.&nbsp;“The public lecture is delivered by the MDA Department of Occupational Health and Safety. We want to share knowledge about hazard identification and how to manage risk, both in the industrial world and in everyday life,” said Mustafa Ibrahim, Head of Mining Engineering &amp; Site Manager Awak Mas. With these public lectures on OHS, the students are expected to have sufficient knowledge when they enter the industrial setting.&nbsp;“The public lecture is MDA's contribution in bridging the gap between the academic and the industrial world. We really appreciate MDA's commitment to support education in Luwu Regency," said Ahmad, Principal of SMKN 2 Luwu.&nbsp;The public lecture on OHS at SMKN 2 Luwu is part of the MDA Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) in the field of Education that has been running regularly. Last July, MDA established Banua Manarang as a children's library with a collection of 250 books, 30 educational games, ten musical instruments, and various drawing equipment. Regular monitoring by the company and follow-up activities are also carried out to ensure that activities in Banua Manarang are carried out optimally. Moreover, MDA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Luwu Regency Library Service to donate 1,000 books to Banua Manarang, support capacity training for “Smart Children” cadres, and conduct a comparative study at the library in Paconne Village last September. Since last April, MDA has assisted the Luwu Cultural School I La Galigo by providing facilities and infrastructure for teaching and learning activities so that it can graduate more than 50 students for each batch. MDA continues to be committed to nurturing future generations around its operational areas for a better Indonesia.&nbsp;
