They decided to take temporary shelter at a local resident’s house nearby. While resting, they received a plea for help from residents whose vehicle was trapped in the landslide area. Driven by humanitarian concern, the partner employees took the initiative to assist in evacuating the stranded residents and their vehicle. However, during the evacuation process, a secondary landslide occurred, resulting in injuries to the partner employees, while the residents they were trying to save tragically lost their lives.<h3>MDA Emergency Response Measures</h3>To assist in handling the situation, MDA deployed its Emergency Response Team (ERT) with various forms of support, including rescue personnel to aid in victim evacuation, doctors and paramedics equipped with adequate medications and medical supplies, and ambulance units to transport victims to the nearest healthcare facility.Additionally, MDA contributed heavy equipment to facilitate debris clearance and evacuation efforts, including one 30-ton excavator, one 20-ton excavator, one wheel loader, and one bulldozer. MDA Collaborates with Pertamina Patra Niaga, Reaffirming Commitment to Green Mining by Using Industrial Fuel Appropriately

Belopa, August 16, 2024&nbsp;– Full support from the communities of various villages in Luwu Regency has once again been received by PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA). This support comes from Rumaju Village, Balla Village, Kurrusumanga Village, Senga Village, South Senga Village, Balo-balo Subdistrict, Tampumia Radda Subdistrict, and Bajo Subdistrict. This was confirmed through an official letter of support submitted to MDA.Previously, MDA had received full support statements from six villages in Latimojong District, namely Kadundung Village, Ranteballa Village, Boneposi Village, Tobaru Village, Ulusalu Village, and Tolajuk Village. Additionally, seven villages in West Bajo District, namely Kadong Kadong Village, Sampeang Village, Marinding Village, Saronda Village, Tettekang Village, Tumbubara Village, and Bonelemo Village, have also provided similar support for the continuation of MDA’s mining operation plans.All statements of support were conveyed through the Public Communication Program initiated by MDA. In the forum, most village heads stated that their villages have benefited from MDA’s presence, especially in terms of partnerships in goods and services procurement, job opportunities, and several Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs implemented by the Company. These include skills training, support for small businesses, and village infrastructure improvements.With the receipt of the latest support letter, MDA has gained support from all districts and villages within its operational area, covering four districts and twenty-one villages. 4 Districts and 21 Villages in Luwu Regency Support MDA Operations

Belopa, August 12, 2024 — The Directorate General of Environmental and Forestry Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, through the Sulawesi Regional Environmental and Forestry Law Enforcement and Security Center (Gakkum LHK), has conducted a field verification regarding public complaints against PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) on July 23-27, 2024.The field verification by Gakkum LHK, as stated in Assignment Letter number: ST.691/BPPHLHK.3/SWI/GKM.2.1/B/07/2024, aims to determine the level of compliance of business and/or activity persons in charge with the provisions stipulated in business permits or government approval related to environmental permits and regulations in the field of environmental protection and management. As well as following up on public complaints number 25/ADU-LHK/BPPHLHK.3/5/2024 regarding the gold mining activities of PT Masmindo Dwi Area, which are suspected of causing flash floods in Luwu, Sidrap, and Wajo Regencies, South Sulawesi Province.From the results of the verification, Gakkum LHK concluded that in terms of environmental permits, MDA's planned activities are in accordance with those stated in the 2019 Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) document and the current conditions.Regarding public complaints alleging that MDA's activities have caused floods and landslides, Gakkum LHK has conducted field verification and stated that no correlation was found between MDA's activities and the flood and landslide disasters that occurred in May 2024.Responding to the results of the field verification, MDA's Head of Mining Engineering (KTT), Mustafa Ibrahim, emphasized the company's commitment to regulatory compliance and environmental responsibility. "We always operate with high standards to ensure that MDA's mining activities do not have a negative impact on the surrounding environment. The results of the field verification from Gakkum LHK further strengthen our belief that the company's operations are on the right track," he said. Field Verification by the Directorate General of Environmental and Forestry Law Enforcement, Ministry of Environment and Forestry: MDA Fulfills All Permit Requirements and is Not the Cause of Floods and Landslides in Luwu

The management of PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) had an audience with the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the South Sulawesi Governor’s office.On that occasion, MDA’s CEO Trisakti Simorangkir reported the progress of the Awak Mas gold mining project managed by MDA in Ranteballa Village, Latimojong District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. “Up to now, the process of compensating for the remaining land continues and is approaching the final stage, so the production plan, which was previously set for 2025, is estimated to be postponed to 2026,” said Trisakti.The change in the production schedule target is due to several obstacles in the land compensation process, as well as natural disasters of floods and landslides in Luwu Regency last May, which resulted in the disruption of access roads in several villages, thus affecting MDA’s operational activities at the site.The Acting Governor provided guidance and support for the efforts made by MDA. It is hoped that in addition to the land compensation process, the preparation of the construction phase can also be carried out gradually, so that MDA can eventually start production. It is expected that once MDA begins production, it will make a significant contribution to improving the welfare of the community and the development of South Sulawesi, especially in Luwu Regency. The Awak Mas Mining Project Plan Continues

Makassar, July 25, 2024 – PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) and PT PLN (Persero) have signed a Power Purchase Agreement, a significant milestone in achieving MDA’s production operations in Luwu, South Sulawesi. The agreement was signed by MDA President Director Trisakti Simorangkir, MDA Finance Director Tammam Jannata, and PLN UP3 Palopo Manager Rathy Shinta Utami. The event took place at the PLN Unit Induk Distribusi (UID) Sulselrabar office in Makassar on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.MDA Project GM Fakhruddin informed that the provision of 23 MVA of electricity is crucial to meet MDA's overall production targets. He also expressed appreciation to PLN management and team, as well as MDA's commitment to fulfilling the agreement.PLN UID Sulselrabar General Manager Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin emphasized the importance of strong synergy between the energy and industrial sectors, particularly in supporting the national economy. "PLN is committed to providing electricity services to facilitate MDA's operations," said Andy.Previously, in June 2024, MDA and PLN collaborated on MDA's commitment to becoming an environmentally friendly company through the use of green electricity, which is a renewable energy certificate (REC) service owned by PT PLN (Persero).
