PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) has deployed its Emergency Response Team (ERT) to join the ESDM Disaster Response humanitarian mission in support of disaster management efforts in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).The team was officially dispatched by MDA President Director, Trisakti Simorangkir, on Tuesday (August 18). For this mission, MDA is sending three emergency response personnel who will join the ESDM Disaster Response team and other relevant stakeholders in the affected areas.In his remarks prior to their departure, Trisakti said that the involvement of MDA’s ERT Team represents the company’s support for collective efforts to assist communities affected by the disaster. He also reminded all personnel to prioritize safety, maintain coordination, and carry out their duties with a strong sense of responsibility.<blockquote>“Your departure carries a humanitarian mission and the responsibility to help communities facing difficult circumstances. Stay safe, maintain team solidarity, follow the coordination of the ESDM Disaster Response team, and give the best of our abilities to support those on the ground,” said Trisakti.</blockquote>Prior to deployment, the MDA ERT Team prepared its personnel and various supporting equipment required throughout the mission. With their emergency response competencies, the team is expected to contribute to various disaster management efforts in the field, in accordance with the directions and needs established through coordination with ESDM Disaster Response.This deployment reflects MDA’s spirit of mutual cooperation and commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts whenever assistance is needed. This time, the capacity-building initiative focused on the community’s ability to manage a communal kitchen, an essential component of emergency response and post-disaster relief efforts.In collaboration with the Center for Mapping and Disaster Studies (PUSPENA) of Universitas Cokroaminoto Palopo (UNCP), the activity involved the Luwu Regency Social Affairs Office, the Luwu Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the Disaster Research Center of Hasanuddin University, MDA’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), and local residents. The collaboration forms part of an effort to establish coordinated preparedness at the village level.During the simulation, residents not only gained an understanding of the functions of a communal kitchen but also participated directly in the various stages of its operation. These included assigning roles and coordinating personnel, managing food supplies, preparing meals, and distributing food to affected communities.The Secretary of the Luwu Regency Social Affairs Office, Drs. Commencing on August 9, 2026, and conducted in three batches, the training aimed to strengthen security personnel’s understanding of how to carry out their duties professionally and proportionally while continuing to respect the rights and dignity of every individual.The training featured Saurlin P. Siagian, S.Sos., M.A., Commissioner for Monitoring and Investigation at the National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (Komnas HAM RI), as one of the main speakers, alongside Dr. Abdul Rahman Nur, S.H., M.H., Vice Rector IV of Unanda. Following the establishment of Disaster-Resilient Villages (DESTANA), PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA), in collaboration with Cokroaminoto Palopo University (UNCP), has carried out the next phase of the program by strengthening DESTANA institutions and conducting disaster preparedness simulations in Boneposi and Tolajuk Villages.The initiative is part of the Village Safety Program, one of the key pillars of the Village Protection Program (Jaga Desa), which was developed based on community aspirations conveyed through FORDES MATAPPA. Rather than ending with awareness campaigns, the program is designed to equip communities with the capacity, systems, and practical mechanisms needed to respond effectively during emergencies.Unlike previous activities, which focused on introducing disaster risks and establishing DESTANA organizations, this phase provided residents with hands-on experience through disaster response simulations. Activities included defining the roles and responsibilities of DESTANA members, developing coordination mechanisms, identifying assembly points and temporary evacuation shelters, mapping evacuation routes, installing evacuation signage, and practicing emergency communication procedures as part of community preparedness exercises.The program involved the Luwu Regency Government through the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Luwu Regency Social Affairs Office, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), village governments, FORDES MATAPPA, the Center for Community Development and Service (PUSPENA) of Cokroaminoto Palopo University, and residents from both villages. From Awareness to Action: MDA and UNCP Strengthen Community Preparedness Through the Disaster-Resilient Village (DESTANA) Program in Boneposi and Tolajuk

One of its key initiatives was marked by the official launch of the MATAPPA Academy by the Regent of Luwu.
