Through the Village Forum Gathering, several initiatives were officially handed over as part of the follow-up to the forum discussions. These include the relocation of the intake and transmission pipeline of Perumda Tirta Latimojong, a collaborative program between the Luwu Regency Government, the River Basin Authority (BBWS), and MDA. This initiative is expected to strengthen the clean water supply system for communities in the Latimojong area up to Belopa and its surrounding regions. This activity forms part of the Task Force’s efforts to ensure that social stability and investment sustainability in Luwu Regency remain well maintained through strengthened cross-sector coordination. During the forum, Moh. Arsal Arsyad, Head of Bappelitbangda and Secretary of the Investment Acceleration Task Force, emphasized that any dynamics in the mining ring area must be addressed swiftly and in a coordinated manner to prevent them from escalating into broader issues.“Investment is an integral part of regional development, but social stability is its foundation. Therefore, any developments in the field must be promptly communicated and handled collectively, rather than allowed to persist,” said Arsal.﻿He added that the Task Force’s role is not only to ensure the smooth administration of investments, but also to maintain a balance between business certainty and the interests of surrounding communities. The Luwu Regency Government, in collaboration with PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA), officially handed over a patchouli processing facility to the Koperasi Produsen Hasil Tani Masyarakat (Community Agricultural Producers Cooperative) in Bonelemo Village. This initiative forms part of a collaborative program between the regional government and the company to support local economic development through strengthening businesses based on regional potential. The handover ceremony was attended by the Head of the Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Industry, Rahimullah; the Head of the Village Community Empowerment Office of Luwu Regency, Kasmaruddin; Working Group Secretary Zulkarnaim; West Bajo Subdistrict Head Imran Salang; representatives of the village government; cooperative management; and members of the local community. The handover marks the commencement of the cooperative’s management of the patchouli processing facility, which had been gradually developed and prepared since 2023. The facility is part of a broader patchouli business development initiative designed to be directly managed by the community through a cooperative institutional framework. In a separate statement, MDA’s Head of Mining Engineering, Mustafa Ibrahim, emphasized that MDA’s contribution extends beyond constructing physical infrastructure to establishing a comprehensive business ecosystem. The development program includes farmer assistance at the cultivation level, strengthening the cooperative as the facility operator, and preparing production management systems to ensure sustainable operations and added value generation. The facilities handed over include a raw material warehouse, a drying area, and a distillation unit, all designed to enhance the value of locally produced patchouli. The cooperative operates the facility with ongoing mentoring support to ensure stable and effective management. During Phase I of the program (2023–2025), MDA focused on establishing and strengthening the Community Agricultural Producers Cooperative. The cooperative has obtained legal status and is managed by community representatives from several villages within the program area. Cooperative administrators received foundational mentoring in organizational management, financial management, and business planning, preparing them to serve as the primary managers of the patchouli processing facility.Upstream, patchouli farmers were provided with training on demonstration plot (demplot) development and the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to improve productivity and product quality. Downstream, the processed output has secured buyers and clear market access, ensuring that the business operates within an integrated value chain. Through cooperative-based patchouli enterprise development, community members are positioned not merely as program beneficiaries but as active business actors. The initiative creates employment and business opportunities in both cultivation and processing sectors, thereby strengthening the local economy beyond reliance on formal employment within the company. Bonelemo Village Head, Baso, noted that the approach provides clarity and sustainability for the community, as the development is implemented comprehensively. “What we see is not merely the construction of a facility, but the preparation of a management system. Farmers are guided, the cooperative is given a clear role, and patchouli products have established processing and market channels,” he stated.With the official handover comple﻿ted, cooperative management of the patchouli enterprise will extend beyond the transfer of facilities. Makassar, 6 February 2026 – PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) attended the Working Visit invitation of Committee II of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), held at the DPD RI Representative Office of South Sulawesi Province. The activity was conducted as part of a regional dialogue and advocacy effort concerning policy preparations for risk prevention and regional protection during the pre-mining stage. The working visit served as a forum for dialogue between Committee II of the DPD RI, regional governments, business actors, and other stakeholders to ensure that strategic investment activities can proceed in a measured manner, aligned with regional conditions and characteristics, while continuing to prioritize the interests of the community and the environment. Therefore, the acceleration of investment is considered necessary to be accompanied by strengthened risk mitigation from the planning stage, so that potential issues can be anticipated early and do not hinder development in the future.The Chair of Committee II of the DPD RI, A.A. Waris Halid, stated that the working visit was part of the DPD RI’s advocacy function to promote a conducive investment climate while ensuring the protection of regional and community interests. “We encourage investment processes to run smoothly while maintaining strong attention to risk mitigation, environmental protection, and the social interests of the community. Early-stage dialogue is essential to ensure that all parties share the same understanding,” he said. MDA Attends Working Visit of Committee II of the DPD RI Regarding Pre-Mining Preparations in South Sulawesi

PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) once again implemented its Free Health Check-Up and Medical Treatment Program in Latimojong District, focusing on early detection of chronic and communicable diseases as a preventive measure for communities living around the company’s operational area. This free health check-up and treatment program is a sustainable initiative that has been carried out by MDA since 2022. Since 2024, the scope of implementation has been expanded to cover 12 villages in Latimojong District, ranging from Rante Balla Village to Pangi Village, the outermost village in the area. Through this program, MDA delivers healthcare services directly to communities to improve access to medical services in remote areas. During the latest implementation period, the program was conducted over four days, from January 15 to 18, 2026. A total of 597 residents participated in the health examinations and medical treatment, with elderly participants accounting for approximately 42 percent of the total. Services provided included general health examinations, medical consultations, and the distribution of medicines based on examination results. Through these services, healthcare personnel also carried out initial identification of indications of chronic diseases as well as diseases with potential for transmission within the community. The Head of Mine Engineering (KTT) of MDA, Mustafa Ibrahim, stated that early detection is one of the key focuses of the health program.“Through this free health check-up and medical treatment program, MDA aims to encourage the community to be more aware of their health conditions from an early stage. Early detection is crucial so that potential chronic diseases can be addressed more quickly before developing into more serious conditions, especially among the elderly, while also reducing the risk of the spread of communicable diseases,” said Mustafa. He added that the program is also part of the company’s efforts to expand access to healthcare services in remote areas. Based on the examination results during this period, some of the most commonly identified conditions included myalgia (muscle pain) and hypertension. These findings underscore the need for further preventive measures through health education and regular monitoring. “By bringing healthcare services directly to villages, we hope the community will no longer delay medical check-ups or treatment due to distance and facility limitations. This activity is part of a regular communication agenda designed to ensure that the development process is transparent, well-documented, and aligned with community needs. Pokja Secretary, Zulkarnaim, explained that FORDES is more than just a discussion platform—it serves as a mechanism for conveying aspirations directly connected to both the government and the company.“Pokja serves to bridge the interests of residents, the government, and MDA. The principle is simple: aspirations must be heard, processed, and followed up. FORDES provides an official dialogue space that minimizes misinformation and promotes transparency,” he said During the meetings in the six villages, community members generally voiced aspirations related to road infrastructure, traffic safety, road dust management, and better dissemination of information regarding employment opportunities. Residents also hoped that youth skills training programs would be prioritized ahead of the active construction phase.Several villages highlighted the potential for local economic development based on agriculture and small enterprises. Among these were initiatives to strengthen patchouli cultivation and handicraft groups (Lito) in Bonelemo; proposals to enhance business management capacity and cooperative collaboration between Koperasi Merah Putih and farmer groups in Tolajuk; requests for reforestation of landslide-prone areas; and support for fruit tree planting and fish seed assistance in Ulusalu Village. Pokja representative Dr. Maman emphasized that community involvement through FORDES is a step toward building healthy social accountability.“We ensure that all technical notes and community inputs are forwarded for follow-up actions. Communication like this is essential to make sure that development progresses not only swiftly but also accurately and sustainably,” he explained. To strengthen communication transparency, MDA also distributed materials and flyers on the grievance mechanism at several village offices and houses of worship. Luwu, October 19, 2025 — The Working Group for Investment Acceleration (POKJA) of Luwu Regency, together with PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA), continued the series of Village Forum (Fordes) activities in Boneposi Village, Latimojong Sub-district. This event follows the first Fordes held in Tumbubara Village and forms part of the ongoing effort to strengthen synergy among the government, local communities, and the company in developing the local economy within the Awak Mas Project area. POKJA Secretary Zulkarnaim explained that the Boneposi Village Forum serves as a strategic platform to align community aspirations with development plans by both the company and the local government.“POKJA ensures that regional policies and investment activities move in line with community needs. Forums like this are essential for all stakeholders to understand their roles, particularly in creating employment and business opportunities in the villages,” he emphasized. Hamka, Head of Boneposi Village, noted that the forum helps unify perspectives on village economic opportunities, especially in agriculture and livestock, which are the village’s main commodities. He added that the village government will continue to conduct open and transparent socialization regarding local labor recruitment quotas. Separately, Mustafa Ibrahim, MDA’s Mine Technical Head, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with communities and government through village-based development approaches.“We see great potential in Boneposi’s agriculture and livestock sectors.
