The Clean Water Program in Nase Hamlet Strengthens MDA’s Ongoing Support for Access to Clean Water in Latimojong

The Clean Water Program in Nase Hamlet Strengthens MDA’s Ongoing Support for Access to Clean Water in Latimojong

PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) has once again delivered a clean water assistance program for communities in the Latimojong area through the construction of a clean water facility in Nase Hamlet, Rante Balla Village, Latimojong District. The program now provides water access to approximately 21 households.

As a mountainous area, access to clean water in Nase Hamlet had previously remained a challenge for some residents, especially during unpredictable weather conditions. The availability of this clean water facility now helps the community gain easier and more stable access to water for their daily needs.

The program in Nase Hamlet forms part of MDA’s broader support for strengthening clean water access across the Latimojong area. Previously, MDA was also involved in a clean water pipeline project in Rante Balla Village that reached more than 100 households, as well as providing support worth IDR 1.5 billion to Perumda Tirta Latimojong to strengthen clean water services for the community.

The program is also part of MDA’s Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) commitment in supporting improvements to the quality of life of communities surrounding its operational areas, particularly through strengthening essential services and infrastructure needed by local residents.

The Head of Rante Balla Village, Zulkarnain, expressed appreciation for the clean water facility assistance, saying it has greatly helped the people of Nase Hamlet.

“Now the community can access clean water much more easily for their daily needs. We are grateful because the benefits of this assistance are truly being felt by residents,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Mina, said the presence of the clean water facility has made daily activities much easier for the community.

“In the past, residents had to adjust to the limited water conditions, but now water access is much easier and closer. This assistance has been very helpful for the people of Nase Hamlet,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mine Technical Services Head, Mustafa Ibrahim, stated that the company wants to ensure every program implemented can deliver direct benefits to the community through initiatives that truly address residents’ needs.

“For communities in mountainous areas such as Latimojong, access to clean water is extremely important in daily life. Therefore, we see support for clean water facilities not merely as infrastructure assistance, but as part of an effort to provide a better and more sustainable quality of life for the community,” he said.

Going forward, MDA stated that it will continue to encourage collaboration with local governments, village forums, and various other stakeholders so that efforts to strengthen access to clean water and other basic community needs can be carried out gradually and sustainably.
