PT Masmindo Dwi Area Provides an Update on the Recruitment Mechanism for the Awak Mas Project

In response to the widespread circulation of “hoax” job advertisements claiming to represent PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) which have caused confusion among the public, MDA reiterates that such information is not true. All recruitment processes for the Awak Mas Project have an official mechanism implemented together with the Task Force for Acceleration and Collaboration of Investment in Luwu Regency (Pokja).

The Pokja, which was established by the Luwu Regency Government, functions as a filter in every stage of recruitment, not to take over the company’s role. Through this cooperation, MDA and Pokja ensure that the recruitment process runs transparently, fairly, and prioritizes the representation of local residents.

Through the Pokja, a recruitment committee has been formed involving village governments and relevant stakeholders. This committee is responsible for verifying applicant data, mapping manpower needs, and overseeing the implementation of local labor priority. This means that all information related to job vacancies can also be obtained through each village office.

The Chairman of Pokja, Sofyan Thamrin, emphasized that the involvement of Pokja is a real form of commitment to the community. “Pokja is present to ensure that the representation of local residents is truly implemented, while ensuring that the recruitment process is transparent and fair. By involving villages and stakeholders from the beginning, we aim to close the space for practices that harm the community,” he said.

MDA Director, Erlangga Gaffar, stated that the one-door mechanism has now become the company’s official policy. “MDA has established a one-door recruitment policy. All contractors and subcontractors are required to channel their manpower needs through the mechanism agreed upon with the local government and Pokja. There are no longer any informal channels or recruitment outside the system. This is our way to ensure the process is more orderly, transparent, and benefits the community,” he stressed.

The agreed recruitment mechanism includes the submission of manpower needs from MDA or its contractors, registration of applicants through village authorities or company channels, and verification of identity and residency by the village government. The applicant data are then collected by MDA’s Community Development team and submitted to the Pokja recruitment committee to be mapped and integrated into a joint database. After the job vacancies are published, a list of applicants who meet the criteria will be prepared and selected in coordination with MDA’s Human Capital team. Successful candidates will be announced publicly.

With this system, the public is assured that job opportunities are no longer determined by informal channels and are completely free of charge. In addition, the village government has a direct role in verification, while Pokja ensures process transparency.

On the other hand, the number of job openings is not proportional to the number of job seekers, and MDA also understands the high need for employment. Therefore, this joint mechanism is expected to be a fair way to provide opportunities for local residents.
