PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) took part in a hearing with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) held in Makassar as part of efforts to understand the challenges in managing energy and mineral resources. This hearing carries strategic significance in strengthening synergy among legislative bodies, executive authorities, and business players to support investment acceleration in Indonesia.
During the meeting, PT Masmindo Dwi Area presented updates on the Awak Mas Project in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, which has now entered the construction phase. This project is a strategic investment that not only impacts the mining sector but also makes a tangible contribution to regional development.
“We understand that the construction phase is critical and fraught with challenges, including resolving issues related to compensation for land and crops. However, we remain optimistic that with synergy between the company, local government, the Investment Acceleration Task Force, and Commission XII, the best solutions will be found,” said Samsurizal Adi Bharata, General Manager of Finance and Commercial at MDA.
The Awak Mas Project is significant not only for the company but also for the surrounding communities. “As part of our responsibility, PT Masmindo is committed to continually providing tangible benefits for regional development and supporting the welfare of the community,” he added.
Member of Commission XII, Totok Daryanto, acknowledged that one of the challenges in mining investment is the issue of compensation for land and crops. He expressed hope that this issue can be resolved promptly and find a fair solution for both the community and investors.
Meanwhile, another member of Commission XII, Rokhmat Adrian, emphasized the need to accelerate regional investments to ensure smooth progress, especially as the country requires substantial funding to finance President Prabowo’s programs.
“We certainly encourage efforts to maximize investment acceleration because, once again, the nation needs funds to implement Pak Prabowo’s strategic programs, ranging from free meals, increased teacher salaries, to energy subsidies,” he stated.
Through this meeting, PT Masmindo Dwi Area reaffirmed its commitment to continuously contributing to investment acceleration in this strategic sector, with the hope of becoming part of an inclusive and sustainable national development agenda.***
