PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) met with Pangdam XIV/Hasanuddin, Major General TNI Windiyatno, and his team to foster communication and strengthen ties. During the meeting, MDA provided an update on the Awak Mas Project, which has now entered the construction phase for vital mining infrastructure within MDA’s Contract of Work area in Ranteballa Village, Latimojong District, Luwu Regency.
In addition to presenting the ongoing development progress, MDA’s President Director, Trisakti Simorangkir, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable development.
The discussion also covered strategic initiatives and TNI programs related to improving community welfare and food security. This aligns with the central government’s mandate, particularly through the enhancement of the Tanam Tumbuh Program, which aims to boost agricultural productivity and promote sustainability and self-sufficiency within communities.
Disaster mitigation was another key focus of the meeting. With the expertise and experience of the Construction Engineering Battalion (Yon Zikon), MDA believes that the TNI is well-equipped to manage disaster response efforts, both in emergency situations and post-disaster recovery. These capabilities are crucial in anticipating disasters in high-risk areas, especially those beyond MDA’s Contract of Work territory.
The TNI is also supporting efforts to improve access to clean water for communities around the mining area. This initiative aligns with MDA’s clean water pipeline program in Ranteballa Village, which aims to enhance basic infrastructure quality as part of the company’s commitment to its 8-Pillar Community Empowerment Program.
MDA and Pangdam XIV/Hasanuddin agreed to continue strengthening synergy and collaboration, formulating strategic steps to support food security programs within the framework of sustainable development in areas surrounding MDA’s Contract of Work region.
