PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) has been recognized as the Customer with the Largest Green Energy Utilization by PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Sulawesi Selatan, Sulawesi Tenggara, and Sulawesi Barat (UID Sulselrabar). This award reflects MDA's consistent commitment to supporting the use of renewable energy.

As a customer of PLN's Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) service, Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) is the first company in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, to use 100% renewable energy for four consecutive years (2021–2024). MDA’s total clean energy utilization amounts to 600,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh), equivalent to 600 REC units. REC is a certificate that verifies the electricity used by the customer originates from renewable energy power plants or non-fossil sources.

General Manager of PLN UID Sulselrabar, Budiono, expressed his appreciation for MDA's contribution to supporting the green energy transition. “PLN is committed to accelerating energy transition and bringing electricity to even the most remote areas of the country. Electricity not only improves living standards but also drives the economy. We invite all customers to join us in supporting the energy transition toward Net Zero Emission by 2060 for a better future,” said Budiono.

MDA's Head of Mining Engineering (KTT), Mustafa Ibrahim, stated that this award reflects the company’s commitment to implementing sustainable operations. “We are honored to receive this award. This step represents our support for the green energy transition and our contribution to the environment and surrounding communities,” said Mustafa.
