PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) held its first official audience with the newly elected Regent and Vice Regent of Luwu for the 2024–2029 period, H. Patahudding and Muh. Dhevy Bijak Pawindu, since their inauguration in February. This meeting marked the beginning of efforts to strengthen relationships and build synergy between MDA and the Luwu Regency Government in supporting the acceleration of the Awak Mas Project’s operations.
The audience, held at the Luwu Regent’s Office, was attended by MDA’s top management, including Director of Legal & Corporate Services Erlangga Gaffar, Finance Director Tammam Jannata, and other company representatives. From the local government side, attendees included the Regent and Vice Regent of Luwu, the Head of the Luwu District Attorney’s Office, the Luwu Police Chief, the Chair and Vice Chair of the Luwu Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), as well as representatives from relevant Regional Government Organizations (OPD).
During the meeting, MDA presented the latest updates on the Awak Mas Project, including progress on key permits, community empowerment programs, land security measures, and plans for the development of mining infrastructure that will soon begin. In addition to sharing progress, MDA also outlined several field challenges, such as land ownership claims and the presence of burial sites within the mining concession area.
Erlangga Gaffar expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and support from the Luwu Regency Government. “This meeting is an important momentum to strengthen communication and build solid collaboration. We believe that through transparency, close coordination, and support from all stakeholders, the Awak Mas Project can proceed smoothly and bring real benefits to the people of Luwu,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Regent H. Patahudding emphasized the importance of MDA’s concrete contributions to regional development. He expressed full support for the company to begin operational activities soon, with the hope that the Awak Mas Project will deliver tangible, positive impacts to the community. He also highlighted the need for open communication and intensive coordination between the company and the local government.
This audience marks a strategic milestone to unify the vision between the local government and MDA in accelerating the realization of the Awak Mas Project (AMP). AMP is a gold mining project owned and operated by MDA in partnership with two key contractors—PT Petrosea Tbk and PT Macmahon Indonesia—and supported by local partners.
The project is targeted to begin its first gold production by August 2026 and is expected to become a new economic driver for Luwu Regency and South Sulawesi Province.
