Jakarta, August 23, 2024 - PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) has signed a cooperation contract with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi for the supply of industrial diesel fuel. The signing was carried out by MDA’s President Director, Trisakti Simorangkir, and Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi’s Executive General Manager, Erwin Dwiyanto, in Jakarta.

This collaboration aims not only to ensure the smooth operation of MDA’s gold mine in Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, but also to reaffirm MDA’s commitment to using industrial diesel fuel appropriately.

Trisakti stated that this commitment aligns with the Government’s expectations for all industries in Indonesia to use industrial fuel as intended, rather than subsidized fuel. “We are highly committed to operating the mine in compliance with government regulations. The proper use of industrial fuel is part of our efforts to support the government’s national energy management policies. We hope this step will contribute positively in the future,” said Trisakti.

Industrial fuel, especially biodiesel, is designed not only to meet industrial operational needs but also to support environmental conservation efforts and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The use of biodiesel is part of MDA’s strategy to minimize the environmental impact of mining operations, in line with the utilization of renewable energy from PLN that has been previously implemented.

Furthermore, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi’s Region Manager Corporate Sales, Ferry Pasalini, appreciated MDA’s step in using industrial diesel fuel appropriately. “Our cooperation with MDA is not only to expand sales reach but also to ensure that the needs of consumers for industrial-specific diesel fuel are met,” said Ferry.

He added that Pertamina strongly supports companies that comply with government regulations in the use of industrial fuel. “We hope other industrial companies will use industrial fuel, not subsidized fuel, as stipulated by government regulations,” he added.

With fuel supply support from Pertamina, MDA is ready to continue the efficient and sustainable operation of the gold mine in Luwu, South Sulawesi, while continuing to drive regional and national economic growth.(DY)***
