PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) has distributed thousands of Berkah Lebaran basic food packages to communities within its operational areas. As part of this initiative, a symbolic handover ceremony was held together with the Regent of Luwu, H. Patahudding, and his delegation to 150 sanitation workers in Belopa. The event took place at the Official Residence of the Regent of Luwu.
In total, approximately 5,000 aid packages were distributed to beneficiary communities (Deciles 1–4), particularly households from 21 villages across 4 districts, based on data from the Regency Government and Village Administrations. The distribution began on March 16 and continued until the period leading up to Eid al-Fitr, covering the districts of Latimojong, West Bajo, Bajo, and Belopa.
The assistance was provided in two forms: basic food packages and vouchers for purchasing essential goods. This approach aims to ensure that the aid is distributed effectively and reaches all beneficiaries during the Ramadan period.
On the occasion, the Regent of Luwu, H. Patahudding, expressed appreciation for the company’s continued commitment to sharing benefits with the community.
“We appreciate MDA for demonstrating its concern for the community through this program. The presence of investments such as the Awak Mas Project is expected not only to drive regional economic growth but also to provide direct benefits to the community,” said H. Patahudding.
Meanwhile, MDA Director Erlangga Gaffar emphasized the importance of ensuring that benefits for the community go hand in hand with the project’s development process.
“The Awak Mas Project has not yet entered the production stage. However, for us, the benefits for the community should not have to wait until then, but should begin to grow alongside the ongoing development process,” said Erlangga.
Erlangga added that the momentum of Ramadan provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the company, local government, and the community. Through the Berkah Ramadan program, MDA hopes that the assistance provided can be distributed properly in accordance with beneficiary data and help communities meet their needs ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebration.
