Latimojong, February 18, 2025 – PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA), in collaboration with the Luwu Regional Government and the 1403 Military District Command (KODIM), has initiated a trial of the Nutritious Lunch Program at two elementary schools in Latimojong District, namely SD 43 Ranteballa and SD 662 Salubulo. The program has been running since early February and is conducted twice a week.

The Nutritious Lunch Program aims to improve the nutritional intake of children in Latimojong. In its implementation, MDA is working with the Health Department to evaluate and assess the nutritional content of each meal served. This trial is intended to determine the ideal menu composition that can meet children's nutritional needs, even though meals are not provided daily.

MDA’s Head of Mining Engineering, Mustafa Ibrahim, emphasized that the Nutritious Lunch Program is part of MDA’s commitment to improving the quality of life in Latimojong. "We believe that healthy and well-nourished children will grow into an intelligent generation capable of competing in the future. Therefore, collaboration with various stakeholders is essential to ensure this program runs optimally and provides broad benefits," he stated.

One of the beneficiaries, Hayatul Husna, a student at SD 662 Salubulo, expressed her excitement about the program. "I'm so happy! There’s plenty of rice, the food is delicious. Can I have more?" she said with a laugh.

The trial implementation of the Nutritious Lunch Program also involves Koperasi Sipakatuo and local cooking teams from each village, with most ingredients sourced from local farmers and suppliers around Latimojong. As a result, this program not only supports children's health but also empowers the local economy.

Through this trial, an optimal nutritious lunch format is expected to be developed to meet the nutritional needs of elementary school children. The program is planned to be officially launched once the ideal menu composition is determined according to recommended nutritional standards.
