Jakarta, September 25, 2024 – PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) continues demonstrating its commitment to resolving various land acquisition issues that currently pose a significant challenge to its operations. Various land ownership demands and claims from the community have placed MDA in a position where it must take proactive steps. Therefore, MDA has established partnerships with stakeholders at various levels to create legal certainty, ensure smooth investment, and contribute positively to the local community and national economy. As part of these efforts, MDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Land Bank Agency (BBT) on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the BBT office in Jakarta. This collaboration addresses land ownership issues in MDA’s concession area in Latimojong Village, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi while providing legal certainty and investment guarantees for the future. Parman Nataatmadja, Head of the Land Bank Agency, expressed his appreciation for the trust MDA has placed in the Land Bank Agency concerning land rights management under the Land Bank’s Management Rights (HPL). “The Land Bank is a government institution tasked with providing solutions for legal certainty over lands intended for use, both for investors and communities, including mining companies. For MDA, whether during mining operations or afterward, there will be a clear and guaranteed land utilization agreement,” said Parman. Amid the challenges faced, MDA remains fully committed to ensuring that every land acquisition process complies with applicable laws and regulations. PT Masmindo Dwi Area’s President Director, Trisakti Simorangkir, emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Land Bank Agency to establish legal protection for the company and the surrounding community. “We are grateful for the support provided by the Land Bank. This legal certainty is crucial, not only for the protection of the company’s investment but also to create stability for the communities around the mining area,” he stated. Furthermore, Parman added that with the land area entrusted to the Land Bank Agency, as stipulated in the MoU, the agency will ensure proper management and protection of the land. “With this MoU, we want to ensure that there will be no more illegal claims from the community. Socialization regarding this matter will soon be conducted jointly by BBT and MDA,” he added.
