PT Masmindo Dwi Area (MDA) welcomed an honorary visit from the Commander of Korem 141/Toddopuli, Brigadier General TNI Andre Clift Rumbayan, to the Awak Mas Project area located in Rante Balla, Latimojong District, Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi.
This visit aimed to directly observe the project's progress and strengthen communication and synergy between the Indonesian Army (TNI AD) and MDA in supporting regional development, particularly in MDA's Contract of Work area, which presents significant geographical and accessibility challenges.
In his remarks, Brig. Gen. TNI Andre Clift Rumbayan emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing cross-sector collaboration to strengthen regional resilience and promote sustainable development.
"We see that synergy between the TNI and development actors like MDA plays a crucial role in enhancing regional resilience, especially in remote and strategic areas. This collaboration involves not only security aspects but also sustainability, community welfare, and self-reliance," he stated.
One concrete example of this collaboration is the planned implementation of the "TNI AD Manunggal Air" program in Rante Balla Village in the near future. This program is expected not only to meet the community's basic need for clean water access but also to be part of an integrated development approach that emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and sustainability.
Although the project has not yet entered the mining production phase, MDA has demonstrated a strong commitment not only to operational aspects but also to social and environmental contributions in the surrounding area. The presence of the Indonesian Army through Korem 141/TP is expected to be a strategic partner in maintaining stability, supporting the development of basic infrastructure, and opening opportunities for collaboration in social and conservation fields.
"We believe that the success of this project greatly depends on synergy with all elements of the nation, including the TNI. We are ready to collaborate within a broader frameworkâprotecting the environment, strengthening the social fabric of communities, and ensuring inclusive development," said Mustafa Ibrahim, MDA's Chief Mining Engineer. ***
